Scrub Free X-treme with Oxi Clean boasts that it can get rid of tough stains while Scrub Free with Bleach disinfects (99.9% of bacteria) and removes mildew stains. For the purpose of this review I will review them separately since they both do different things.
I started with Scrub Free with Bleach. As with most bleach products I knew it would have a strong scent and I was right! It doesn't say on the bottle but if you are cleaning a large area then make sure it's well ventilated. I started with my cheap dollar store shower curtain that had some mildew stains on it. Ugh that's nasty!
I decided to spray it and wait 10 minutes to see if it would wipe right off as the label said.
It worked! This was without any wiping or scrubbing at all. Ahh the wonders of bleach! There is still a little patch on the upper left hand side of this picture but I'm assuming I just missed it while spraying. I was so impressed I decided to try it on a stain on my wall.
Bad idea! Even though they don't specifically warn against spraying on white paint, they do tell you to spot test if in doubt. I guess I should have read all the instructions first.
It's like a bright yellow discoloration! Ahhh! I'm hoping it'll fade when it dries. I'll be sure to update this.
I also tried it on bathtub soap scum and was very impressed at how easily it wiped off. Unfortunately, it's hard to get a picture of soap scum.
Next I tried Scrub Free X-treme and wasn't overly impressed. It smells much more mild and is more tolerable but I'm not a big fan of chemical scents in general. I tried it on many different surfaces but I wasn't wowed. I'm thinking it'll be much better at preventing soap scum/calcium build up as it suggests than clean it. I'm going to use it for the next week after every shower and update this in 7 days.
